Draft horses at the Coliseum, a chariot parade downtown, and a barn full of animals out at Kings Landing. It is a good weekend to be outside.

We also had eight local businesses claim their listings in the past week, which is more than the whole of the rest of the year put together. A few of them are below.

Community BBQ at 621 Churchill Row. All day.

Saturday 15
Elm City Classic Draft Horse Show at the Coliseum. Free to watch, and the horses are enormous.
Vegetabowl 2026 at 499 Cliffe Street.
NB Food Forest Tour at the Fredericton Botanic Garden. $15 per person.
Atlantic Canada Regional GripSport Championship at the Fredericton Bouldering Co-op.
shelajit at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. 6 pm.

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16
Barnyard Days at Kings Landing, from 10 am both days. Worth the drive west if you have kids.

Sunday 16
Rath Yatra Chariot Fest near the Public Library on Carleton Street. Parade, music, and a free vegetarian feast.

Neighbourly Coffee, 12 Neighbourly Way

Scratch made food and a coffee shop built around the idea that people should feel like they belong somewhere. It sits inside the 12Neighbours community on the north side, and it is the sort of place that ends up hosting things rather than just serving them. This Thursday it is the Living Widowed lunch, which tells you most of what you need to know about the room. They claimed their Freddy Local listing last week.
