Ribfest weekend in Freddy

Share:FacebookXLinkedInEmailForward to a Freddy friend

You can smell it from the highway. Freddy Beach Ribfest has taken over the Exhibition Grounds for four days, and the rest of the weekend lined up behind it: a Fleetwood Mac tribute at the Playhouse, a 10-year block party on the Northside, and Hike for Hospice on Sunday. Bring napkins, wear something sauce-compatible, and pace yourself. Here is the whole weekend.

This weekend in Freddy (June 12-14)

  • Thu-Sun Jun 11-14

    Freddy Beach Ribfest

Capital Exhibit Centre, 361 Smythe Street

Bigger. Bolder. Saucier. Four days of championship ribbers, live music, a midway, a vendor market, a mini farm, and BBQ classes, all raising money for local charities. Trooper plays Friday night with Julian Austin and Josh Norrad, and Brandon Brewer headlines a boxing card Saturday. This is the big one. Build your weekend around it.

  • Sat Jun 13

    Gypsy: Premiere Fleetwood Mac Tribute

    Fredericton Playhouse, 686 Queen St

A full Fleetwood Mac tribute show, 7:30 PM. Rumours front to back, the harmonies, the hits. If you need a break from the rib smoke, this is the Saturday night ticket.

  • Sat Jun 13

Freddy ReStore Block Party & Community Market (10 Years)

Freddy ReStore, 800 St Mary's St

Habitat for Humanity's ReStore turns 10 with a block party and community market. Vendors, music, and a good cause on the Northside. Free to wander through.

  • Sat Jun 13

    Boyce Farmers Market

    665 George Street

7 AM to 1 PM, every Saturday year-round. One of Canada's top farmers markets. Get there early, fuel up, then head for the ribs.

  • Sun Jun 14

    Donovan Woods

Wilmot United Church, 473 King Street

The Juno-winning songwriter plays the intimate room at Wilmot. A quiet, lovely way to land the weekend after two days of Ribfest noise.

  • Sun Jun 14

    Hike for Hospice Fredericton 2026

    Hospice Fredericton, 621 Churchill Row

The annual community hike supporting Hospice Fredericton. Walk, donate, or both. A good Sunday morning before the week starts again.

The week ahead (June 16-18)

  • Tue Jun 16

    Tim Hicks: Going Somewhere Tour

    Fredericton Playhouse, 686 Queen St

Canadian country at the Playhouse, 7:30 PM. The Going Somewhere Tour rolls into Fredericton. If Ribfest left you wanting more live music, here it is.

  • Thu Jun 18

    Garrison Night Market

    Carleton Street, Downtown

Summer Thursdays are back, 4:30 to 9:00 PM. Local artisans, food vendors, music, and downtown energy in the Historic Garrison District. Every Thursday through September 10.

  • Thu Jun 18

Green River Revival: CCR Tribute Concert

    Fredericton Playhouse, 686 Queen St

Creedence Clearwater Revival, note for note, 7:30 PM. Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, the whole catalogue. A Thursday-night singalong to close the week.
