The Lunar Rogue is a downtown Fredericton pub at 625 King Street, pouring pints and plates since 1989 and best known for one of the deepest whisky selections in the country. Food is classic pub fare done properly: wings with house-made sauces are the Thursday and Saturday draw, and the weekly rotation covers half-price appetizers on Monday, nachos with chili on Tuesday, taquitos on Wednesday, a chef's dinner feature on Friday, and loaded nachos on Sunday. Reviewers consistently describe a cozy, welcoming room with classic character, friendly and attentive staff, and a good local draft list alongside the whisky. The sticky toffee pudding gets singled out among desserts. Some regulars note prices run higher than average and mains can be modest in size; most consider the atmosphere and the back bar worth it. Hours run 11 am to midnight Monday to Friday, 10 am to midnight Saturday, and 11 am to 10 pm Sunday. Tip from repeat visitors: go on a weeknight if you want space at the bar, and ask staff for prices on rare pours and imports not listed on the menu.
