The Calithumpians (Fredericton Outdoor Summer Theatre)

The Calithumpians are Fredericton's outdoor summer theatre troupe, performing free shows in Officers' Square every day from Canada Day to Labour Day for over forty years: 12:15 on weekdays, 2:00 on weekends and holidays. Each season the not-for-profit company stages four shows on historical themes and social issues, running in repertory, and the daily show is one of downtown's most reliable free things to do with visitors or kids.

Their Act Now! drama camps run weekly through the summer for ages 6 to 14, a different age group each week. Campers write their own show by collective creation, take workshops in singing, dance, and improv, and end the week performing as the opening act to the Calithumpians' Friday noon show. Sponsored spaces are available through the Calithumpians Scholarship Program for families who could not otherwise afford camp.

Based at 168 Church Street. Schedules, camp registration, and the scholarship details are on their website.
